Live long and prosper! ...Congratulations, Dr. GeoX! Live long and prosper! And get tenure soon, so you can stop publishing in your field and spend *all* your time outside the classroom writing about the Ducks! (Well, actually, I guess that last one is a pretty selfish wish on my part....)

As for duck comics appropriate to the occasion....David Gerstein did suggest a while back that you take a look at "Big Brain Blowout" (Kirsten de Graaf and Mau Heymans). As an academic in the humanities myself, the one thing I would say about that story is that it is not believable to me that scientists would react as they do in this story...but it is perfectly believable that humanities scholars would. We do not have a mutually agreed-upon experimental method to keep us from rank idiocy. All we have is the occasional scholar like you, who sees through silliness and keeps a sense of humor about it all!Elainenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5423579092779163824.post-64182298099778884832013-02-12T22:49:06.962-05:002013-02-12T22:49:06.962-05:00Congratulations, Geo.
